The Institute for Infrastructure, Environment and Innovation (IMI) is an independent non-profit organisation with locations in Brussels, Hamburg and Amsterdam, aiming to demonstrate that the development of infrastructure can be reconciled with nature protection and environmental goals. In this connection, European nature legislation constitutes the main focal point of IMI, which specialises in projects that combine economic development and the preservation of Natura 2000 sites in coastal areas and estuaries.

Within these sectors we: initiate and develop European co-operation projects; provide advice on nature protection regulation and integrated management plans; provide mediation on cross-border issues between the European Member States.
